Cookie Policy
Last Updated: March 12, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how ATG COMPUTER S.L. (“we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal data more broadly. Our website provides information about technology education and digital skills programs available throughout Canada and enables visitors to request information, submit inquiries, and learn about our courses and services.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember preferences, and gather information about how sites are used. We may also use related technologies: pixel tags (clear GIFs/web beacons) that help measure interactions with pages or emails, and server-side logging that records requests for security and reliability. In this policy, we refer to all of these as “cookies” for simplicity.
Types of cookies we use
We categorize cookies by purpose. Only Essential cookies are active by default. Analytics and Marketing cookies require your consent and will not run until you choose to enable them in our preferences panel.
1) Essential cookies (always on)
These cookies are required for the website to function correctly and to provide core services such as page navigation, form submission, and consent management. They do not store information for advertising purposes and cannot be switched off in our systems. You may block them in your browser, but parts of the site may not work properly.
2) Analytics cookies (consent-based)
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use our website. Typical metrics include page views, session length, and click paths. When enabled, analytics cookies contribute to service improvement by highlighting which pages are clear and which need refinement. We configure analytics to avoid collecting unnecessary personal data and to respect applicable consent requirements. Analytics cookies are not set unless you opt in.
3) Marketing cookies (consent-based)
Marketing cookies support advertising relevance and conversion measurement. When enabled, they may help us understand which pages visitors viewed before requesting information and allow us to present educational content that aligns with interests expressed on our site. These cookies are not essential to site operation and are disabled unless you provide consent.
Cookie table
The table below lists the primary cookies our site may set. Specific names and lifetimes can change as our technology stack evolves; we will update this table when material changes occur.
| Name | Purpose | Category | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _site_session | Site session continuity and basic security | Essential | First-party | Session |
| cookie_consent | Stores your cookie preferences | Essential | First-party | 12 months |
| _ga | Google Analytics user identifier | Analytics | Third-party | 2 years |
| _ga_XXXXXXXXXX | Google Analytics session state (GA4) | Analytics | Third-party | 2 years |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads conversion linker | Marketing | Third-party | 90 days |
| _fbp | Meta Pixel browser identifier | Marketing | Third-party | 90 days |

How we obtain consent
Visitors in jurisdictions that require consent (including the EEA and UK) see a cookie banner on first visit. Analytics and Marketing cookies are disabled by default and will only activate after you select “Accept All” or enable categories within “Manage Preferences.” Your selection is stored in the “cookie_consent” cookie for up to 12 months, after which you may be asked to re-confirm. You can adjust your settings anytime by choosing “Manage cookie preferences” in the site footer.
Managing cookies
- On-site controls: Use the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer to open the banner or preferences panel and change your settings.
- Browser controls: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Instructions are typically found in the browser’s Help or Settings menu.
- Analytics opt-outs: Many analytics providers offer optional opt-out tools. For example, Google provides a browser add-on; details can be found by searching “Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.”
- Advertising choices: Ad platforms often provide ad preference pages where you can limit personalized ads. Search for “Google Ads Settings” or “Facebook ad preferences” for guidance.
If you block Essential cookies, the website may not function correctly. Changing or withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal. When you reject non-essential cookies, we will also clear known analytics and marketing identifiers where feasible.
Third-party providers
Where enabled by your consent, we may work with analytics and advertising providers to understand website usage and measure the effectiveness of our educational communications. Typical partners include Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta (Pixel). We do not permit these providers to use site data for their own independent commercial purposes. International data transfers, where applicable, are handled under appropriate safeguards as described in our Privacy Policy.
Retention
Cookie lifetimes are shown in the table above. Analytics data is typically retained in aggregated form for up to 14 months, and consent records are retained for up to 12 months in the browser. Server logs for security and reliability are generally retained for up to 90 days unless a longer period is required to investigate incidents.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, providers, or legal requirements. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. The “Last Updated” date at the top will always indicate the latest revision.
